The Descendants (Alexander Payne, 2011)

.
Alexander Payne's latest entry is "The Descendants" with George Clooney at the top of his cast. What strikes me most with Payne's films are always true and honest, which easily tickles his audiences due to the reality it projects and how easy his viewers can relate into it. His themes touches the human soul by using characters that we know similar to our lives. These characters serves as palettes that paints up his entire films.

The trailer doesn't go far from the "Sideways" type of feeling but George Clooney obviously delivers another good performance in his career (hoping for an oscar? - maybe, just maybe...)

Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides (2011)

.
The latest of the Pirates of the Carribean franchise, On Stranger Tides, was a huge disappointment for me. I personally have these short naps in between the scenes since the Curse of the Black Pearl, and i thought im not going to experience that with this one. Unfortunately, I did, and I must say nothing spectacular was in it.

The add-ons in the cast was a good call but taking off Keira and Orlando was a better decision (sorry for the fans) since they were already too annoying to be part of the script. Penelope, Ian, and the Serena character were all good in the new line up. Same as the previous ones, lots of characters and more groups are involved. The script was okay and had its good lines but the action scenes was not even close to okay. Lots of pretty impossible scenes like the escape of Jack Sparrow jumping off from one coconut tree from another. Another movie that simply defies the laws of physics - too bad.

Out of ten stars, I can only give it a six/seven. This entry should be at least the second of the franchise, a good position for Rob Marshall (director) after his series of musical film flops...

Jeremy Jahn's Reviews

One of the most subjective but honest, and i must say gritty consistent comments you'll ever hear in the world wide web today is Jeremy Jahns' reviews in youtube. Funny it may only seem, the topics you'll be getting here are all straight to the point, creative in spite of the simplicity of the prep, and hair splitting or straight to the bone feedback to the latest films, trailers, classic favorites, and what-nots in entertainment and news.
